You know how we like supporting our local businesses, we have our milk delivered, our fruit and veg comes from the wonderful Hogan's Fine Foods and we do enjoy trying out the best eateries in Central Scotland, just as much as we like visiting Edinburgh and Glasgow.
But it's not just restaurants that central Scotland has going for it. The Helix is yet another jewel in a Falkirk’s increasingly glittering crown, and every Sunday you can take your little persons for a Junior Park Run around the lagoon in a family friendly 2k jaunt. In a wonderful setting you can get some gentle exercise, great for burning off any extra calories (perhaps from eating out too much) and let your little ones burn off some of their energy. For the past few months the volunteers running this event have been raising money to buy a defibrillator, as surprisingly there isn't one in the park, the nearest is down at the Kelpies. They have now collected over a thousand pounds and are within touching distance of the target.
So where does the Big Mac come in? Given our local focus you may have been as surprised as we were when global giant McDonald's invited us into one of their restaurants to have a go at making one of their best known burgers, (you can read about it here.)
Well we were lucky enough to be paid actual real money for this experience and that arrived earlier this month, so we've decided to give half of it to the fundraising effort get it one small step closer to the finishing line. So there you go, that's how a Big Mac may help save your life!
