It's now less than two weeks until Christmas and if you are anything like me half the presents are still unbought and the team Christmas party still hasn’t been booked.

Anyway, luckily award-winning Spanish restaurant, Ibérica is embracing the Christmas spirit at its new home in Glasgow by offering a selection of special menus, Christmas hampers for your foodie friends and festive dishes for city diners. The restaurant’s ‘Christmas is for sharing’ campaign invites Glasgow diners to embrace the Spanish culture of sharing tapas amongst a group of friends to truly enjoy the festive season.
A specially-created Christmas menu features authentic Spanish cuisine inspired by Ibérica’s Executive Head Chef, Nacho Manzano, who has an impressive three Michelin stars to his name. The menu includes cured Iberian acorn-fed ‘Presa’, scallops, crispy ham & cauliflower puree, Octopus a la Gallega, mallard duck breast with beetroot and boletus and tasty desserts like torrija and Gloria cheesecake. This extensive special menu is available for bookings of eight people or more at £40 per person alongside special drinks packages .
Situated on the corner of St Vincent Street and Hope Street, visitors to the restaurant can either enjoy the Christmas menu in the beautifully-designed main restaurant or reserve the stylish private dining room which can seat up to 12 people for a special dinner with friends, family or colleagues.
For those looking for a little touch of Spain to open on Christmas morning, there is an extensive selection of gourmet hampers available to buy from the restaurant. From the ‘Fisherman’s Fancy’ which includes Frinsa white tuna belly, Jose Peña small sardines in olive oil and the perfect accompaniment ‘Cumio D.O. Ribeiro’ white wine to the ‘Posh Picnic’ hamper which includes Iberico ham, Torta de Trujillo sheep cheese and Boada Pepe Yllera red wine. The hampers range in price from £25 to £100, each filled with a selection of the very best of Spanish gastronomy.

The restaurant will be open until and including lunchtime on the 24th, from the 28th until Hogmanay, re-opening again for 2017 on Wednesday 4th of January.

After work to our main and foyer bars, we've just completed Tron Bar & Kitchen renovations with a revamp of the Victorian Bar, which now offers a refined, elegant experience to enjoy our new cocktail, gin, beer and dining menus. New partnerships with suppliers have helped us to create this craft beer and gin lounge, with Makar Gin as our house pour and Blue Moon on draft. Belhaven have also set up a rotational beer tap to allow us to offer customers a much wider range of craft beers.

First up, we invite you to sample a series of innovative cocktails featuring The Glasgow Distillery's Makar Gin, paired with five sumptuous dishes created from some of the finest locally sourced ingredients. Start with a roast carrot and star anise velouté, sample grilled langoustine with a lemon and fennel crab cake, follow this with a pan-seared salt cod with braised chicory, then a rump of lamb served with artichoke pureé and black truffle glazed carrots, and finish with a coconut panna cotta, pineapple salsa and passion fruit sorbet.
The Makar Brand Ambassador will bring a little theatre to the mixology, with each gin cocktail specially designed to complement perfectly the food on the plate.
Each of the Tasting Series events costs £40 per head and places are limited.
